Wanna One and MOMOLAND have formally gone platinum!

Earlier this yr, the Korea Music Content Industry Association carried out a brand-new certification system for album gross sales, music downloads, and on-line streaming. Starting with music launched on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinums as soon as they attain 250,000 gross sales, whereas songs obtain a platinum certification at 100 million streams or 2.5 million downloads.

On August 9, Gaon Chart introduced that Wanna One and MOMOLAND have been the most recent artists to obtain official certifications. Wanna One’s newest album “1÷χ=1(UNDIVIDED)” was licensed double platinum after promoting over 500,000 copies since its launch in June.

Meanwhile, MOMOLAND’s hit “BBoom BBoom” turned the second music ever to obtain a Gaon platinum certification—and the primary by a feminine artist—after surpassing 100 million streams. iKON’s “Love Scenario” was the first to achieve the milestone earlier this yr.

Congratulations to each Wanna One and MOMOLAND!
