SM Entertainment has responded to an argument over aespa’s music video for their debut single “Black Mamba.”
On December 22, the company said, “We contacted the artist and firm which might be being talked about associated to some scenes within the aespa ‘Black Mamba’ music video, and we spoke with them whereas explaining our planning intentions and [the group’s] world story.” They continued, “The artist and firm understood our company’s planning and manufacturing course of and so they confirmed that they don’t have any objections to the music video scene.”
aespa’s “Black Mamba” music video turned a topic of controversy over obvious similarities between the video and different artwork. There had been allegations that the video appeared to have plagiarized work by German visible artist Timo Helgert (reminiscent of within the scene the place a flower backyard grows in a subway automotive and one other the place a big snake strikes by means of the subway) and the digital girl group K/DA (together with a neon-colored monster baring its enamel).
aespa is a brand new four-member girl group that made their debut on November 17.
