New albums and songs have obtained official certifications from Gaon Chart!
Since January 1, 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association has applied a certification system that awards achievements in album gross sales, music downloads, and on-line streaming. An album is licensed platinum if it sells over 250,000 copies and can also be acknowledged for each million copies which can be bought. For downloads, a music is licensed platinum if downloaded over 2.5 million instances and diamond if downloaded over 10 million instances. For streaming, platinum certifications include 100 million streams and the billion certification for one billion streams.
On June 6, Gaon Chart introduced that 4 albums had obtained new certifications. BTS’s “Map of the Soul: Persona” has achieved the triple million certification, turning into the primary album to ever attain the milestone because the system was applied. The group was capable of obtain the feat in somewhat below two months, because the album was launched on April 12.
BLACKPINK’s “Kill This Love,” TWICE’s “Fancy You,” and GOT7’s “Spinning Top: Between Security & Insecurity” have all obtained platinum certifications, having bought over 250,000 copies every since their releases.
In the streaming class, “Solo” by BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Vibe’s “Fall in Fall” each obtained platinum certifications, that means that they’ve each amassed over 100 million streams.
